ABOUT
Esther Shea is studying for her Master of Music in vocal studies and opera at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Elizabeth Ritchie.
This April she will appear as Mrs Coyle in Britten's Owen Wingrave (RNCM Opera). Other recent operatic appearances include Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Bedfordshire Youth Opera), Youka in L'étoile (RNCM Opera) and La Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro (RNCM scenes).
On the concert platform, Esther has performed Mozart’s C Minor Mass, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.2 and Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem, with Bach's B Minor Mass upcoming this spring.
25th February 2025
Esther will be competing in the finals of the Frederic Cox Award in the RNCM Concert Hall.
4th March 2025
Esther will be competing in the finals of the Williams Howard Award; a compeition celebrating the works of composers of African descent. Alongside Hanna Csermely on piano, they will perform song cycles by Harry Burleigh and Florence Price.

Esther will be performing a lunchtime recital alongside Hanna Csermely on piano. They will perform the song cycle 'Five Songs of Laurence Hope' by H.T Burleigh in the RNCM Concert Hall starting at 13:15.

Esther is performing the role of The Inoculator in Dangerous Matter, a brand-new opera composed by Zakiya Leeming. Premiering in the RNCM Opera Theatre.
