welcome

Praised for her “smooth, steady tone” (Seen and Heard) and “elegant vocal timbre” (Bachtrack), soprano Esther Shea is emerging as a compelling young artist across opera, concert and recital work.

She has just completed her Master of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music and is the winner of the RNCM Concerto Competition and the Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss.

Her operatic roles include The Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen), Mrs Coyle (Owen Wingrave), and Dido (Dido and Aeneas), while recent concert engagements include Strauss' Vier letzte Lieder and Haydn's The Creation. This summer, she joins British Youth Opera for The Rake's Progress and is looking forward to performing Mimì (La Bohème) and Nella (Gianni Schicchi) with Kleine Opera next season.
